If they are using the same basket as before, isn't that the TC patented basket that FI bought the rights to?

it gets worse, fi doest own the basket as far as i can tell! Crossfire does! Im not sure, but i think Fi bought the patent from China??? unless he bought it from crossfire after the fact

Thilo also retained an option to continue to use it from the crossfire, so as far as i know the only companies allowed to use this in the USA are TC/AP and XFire.

While I appreciate getting info directly from the manufacturer, Ive never liked the tongue 'n cheek attitude of 'its top secret hehe'. It smacks of the DigitalDesigns attitude when it comes to handing out real specs for their drivers. yes I know it was just about the name, but still. Why have a name for a speaker that people dont get, and that you wont explain? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I look forward to seeing this new driver, but I could do without the 'designed by undefeated SPL champion blah blah blah" hype surrounding it. Just design it, build it, and show us what it can do. The rest is just fluff.

There's a car audio shop in CT that builds their own subs, and the baskets are identical to the baskets on my Fi BL's. They said Fi must be buying them from the same supplier, granted this was over a year ago, so things might be different now.
