Trying to understand ohms and wattage

Ok man, I'll be honest with you; I got lost reading all of that stuff up there. Here's what I need to know. I need to know what type of AMP you physically have that you are trying to connect these subs to. I need to know the wattage at 1 OHM, 2 OHM, and 4 OHM. I need to know how many channels the AMP has; I need to know how many speakers you have. I need to know the Ohms of the speakers; I need to know if they are Dual or Single voice coils; Once you tell me that, I will tell you what is ELECTRONICALLY POSSIBLE with this config.

 
Oh sorry, I just saw the bit about the Sundown; So I think somebody already answered this; If you have a DUAL VOICE COIL 2 - OHM Speaker; If you want to use both voice coils, the only possible wiring configurations are going to be PARALLEL which will give you a 1 OHM LOAD; Or running them in SERIES, which would give you a 4 - OHM Load; Those are the only possible configurations. Let me show you something. When you run speakers in PARALLEL, you DIVIDE the IMPEDANCE (2 ohms in this case) by the number of VOICE COILS (2); So 2-ohms divided by 2 voice coils is gonna equal a 1-OHM Load; If you're connecting them in SERIES, which means you're crossing the negative over to the positive of the other voice coil and then just using 1 of the negatives from one voice coil and one of the positives from the other voice coil, you are going to ADD (IMPEDANCE + IMPEDANCE) which in this case will be (2-ohm + 2-ohm) = 4-ohm; So the only possible solutions here is either a 1 OHM LOAD or a 4 Ohm Load

 
Yea, I already know how to wire them up and such, I was just curious if I ran the sundown at 1ohm would I get a 800rms load(like my 2 kenwoods made a 500rms load). That way I know to look for a 800@1 ohm rms amp or 400@1ohm amp. Im for sure gunna run it at 1ohm too

Without getting overly complicated, you can only wire that sub to work at 1 or 4 ohms (correctly). That sub is only intended to handle 4-500 watts, PERIOD.

If you purchase an amp, the rated output should be at 1 or 4 ohms (ie 500 @ 1ohm, or 500 @ 4 ohms if running a mono amp such as class D).

I didn't see anything about running multiple 8's, if so, that's another story and explanation.

No matter what the ohm load is or what you configure it to be on the sub, it will produce the same RMS rating stated on the specs, the ohm load only changes at the output of the amp, that's why the amps specification says, @1ohms ...RMS , @2ohms ...RMS , @4ohms ...RMS , logically the lower you have the ohm load on the sub(s) the more the amp can make the wattage output towards the sub.
