since the search function doesnt seem to work....I am trying to set my amp with a dmm. running at .5. What wattage should I use in the equation? Also can someone link me to a test tone? Is volume 50 ok on my hu or does anyone know if clipping occurs at that in the new pioneers?

you need to unhook your subs from amp.. turn your deck to your max listening level, not max on the deck.. you need to no what watts you want rms from amp at that volume level, take the square root of the desired watts and multiply it by your ohm load, then raise gain till your get that number on your dmm

^^^^this^^^^

lets make it easier google rockford fosgate gain settings chart follow the instructions and you will have to do math still as it does not give numbers for .5 ohm loads as there very hard on amps/electrical systems you may want to look at your wiring and see what other options you have, at .5 it may pound for a few but you will get frustrated when your amp is going into protect/overheat after 30min of loud playtime.

I know how to set it jsut trying to figure out which volume would be best for my hu and going to use 2400 for the equation.

if you new how to set it you would not be asking what volume is best lol...

3/4 the way blah blah. I asked does anyone know what volume my pioneer starts to clip at because I was planning on volume 50 but don't have a o scope to see if it is clipping at that.

from his signature.
i dont read sigs lol, but i sure love yours!... i give his amp a week at .5 judging from his level of experience pertaining to the volume question..

3/4 is not the correct answer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif
