Subs talking to me when turned off..

So I totally have recently noticed when I flip my subwoofer to OFF on my headunit, it does shut it off for sure but I get a faint faint distortion/signal coming thru the subs.. I can feel it and hear it like while the headunit is still playing thru the speakers.

Naturally, you would think RCA's. Ruled that out because I have 3 sets of RCA run in my car and I tried all 3(pretty nice rca's too) and they all do the same thing

So.. headunit?

My bad, its not distortion though its definately signal because it goes with the music/beat its definately getting slight signal or something

So like you haev your music playing but subs turned off and the subs are still faintly playing the musical notes they would normally be playing if they were turned on?

You should turn them off and see if you are still getting any voltage from the rcas. It sounds like a little voltage is still going through, and ur pyle 8000 is still amplifying it.

Serious question here, how can you get AC ripples through a wire that is passing DC current?

unplug the rcas from the amp if the sounds stops then all signal is not muted from the headunit to the amplifier...

is it that noticeable that it bothers you? if so just put a kill switch on the remote lead for the sub amp and just shut the amp off, then your assured no signal will be put thru the amp.

not that noticeable that it bothers me but it bothers me that it does it. That would kind of be a bandaid.. I am trying to figure out why. I guess the only reasonable option would be a new headunit and see if that fixes it

or its just a mute feature not a total cut off and a tiny bit of signal squeezes by, not a huge deal
