Trying To Get Some Ideas

Well after having my Camaro totaled I finally got a new car. I went ahead and got a 2005 GTO... pics here http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=8422357&uid=1612587

The stock system is just not cutting it. I want to stay simple on the system. Since I don't want to go too crazy I'm going for SQ. I've seen people place 8" subs in the factor 6.5" sub location (free air of couse). I was thinking of doing the same thing, though I would somehow glass a box for them there. Or I was thinking of doing 4 8" subs, two in the stock factor location and two more facing out towards the trunk.

It has 10 stupid speakers in it, and the imaging is bad IMO. So I was thinking of taking all the rest out, and glassing some BA Z6's or Rainbows in the factor door location to get better imaging. I do have my old system. So I guess I could do 1 Type X sealed... though I don't want to put a lot of weight in a car like this. I want to pretty much just want to use two of my amps (MRD-M1005 & MRV-F545).

Here is a pic of the location of the factory subs. They go down into the trunk. http://pic12.picturetrail.com/VOL440/1612587/3090906/113564301.jpg

Some dork ran a red light when I just started to turn left. The problem was he was behind a Tahoe in the right hand lane and at the last second jerked over to the left hand lane and guned it. We never saw each other, oh well that's why they call them accidents. I did get a new car out of it... of couse now I have a car payment.

I got the box and everything from the system (besides the RCA wires). I will be looking to sell the box and amp rack later.

very high quality 8s for cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif would do down to ~ 20hz fairly flat in most cars relying off cabin gain if installed IB. Good xmax -- good efficency -- good thermal power handling... 49.23/ea if I can manage to order 20 of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you want to play with excessive volume a highpass at about 25-35hz is needed on them depending on how excessive -- how much power you are throwing at them -- and how low you like your bass to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Shame about the car... well atleast you have a sweet new one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
