Trying to Diagnose Battery Gauge Issue

Ok, so I've notice that my battery gauge is bouncing back and forth between the mid point and it's high point. (Also doesn't keep my battery charged) So someone suggested to me it could be my Mechman H/O Alt possibly could be faulty. So I was about to send it back to Mechman for them to test and before I had sent it back to them I decided just to get it tested at Advanced Autozone just to see what they're test results were...tests results ended up coming back good. Could this issue be the alternator making my battery gauge do this or could this be something else?

Have you tested your voltages with a meter? Those gauges aren't always accurate.
