**word. Ive also lost many a friends due to having roomates, and this is why i live with MY gf now and thats it.

I can see how it can happen. When i was rooming to save money I just looked at it as my room is my haven. I setup all my stuff in there(cramped beyond belief). The common areas were up for grabs. I replaced and even added locks and other security measures to safeguard my prize possessions in my room. If my roommate had people over that I didn't feel like conversing with then I went to my room where I had my own space. It was a pretty simple concept for me to grasp. I never really had any beef or trouble. Living on your own is still 100X better of course(or with your woman).

Ya ive lived with a lot of people, some people get like OP did and thinks that they can control everything their roomate does, thats when i tell them to fck off and leave. Others are cool and just have seperate locks on all the rooms, this worked great and i still would live with the people that i did this with. Some people just get to crazy. And now that i can afford living by myself, its definantly worth it, but money was not always as good...
