trunk cars

alright this crossed my mind, and i'm far from an expert or else i wouldn't be asking this question, but does anyone have any advice for getting a trunk car loud? i'd say breaking the 150+db barrier?

anyone use line drivers/eqs, several mids/highs, small sealed enclosures with shitloads of power? how do ya'll do it? upgraded electricals? i just wanna kno some tips and tricks.

did ya'll deaden the whole interior of your car too? floor, firewall, all doors, roof, trunk lid and trunk area, rear deck? should i "port" through the rear deck speakers?

i just wanna get ya'lls opinions/advice for what has worked for you. if i get the balls/time i may decide to enter some local comps for the hell of it. i kno audio plus used to hold local comps every year and michael hughes would be the only one in his class. lol.

What does anything above 80Hz have anything to do with breaking a 150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok well those are more or less for show then.

ok well i got to thinking earlier today, and i was wondering if i decided to build a ported box for my 2 12" mags i'm about to get, i could do adjustable ports. 1 for daily driving and the other for comps. i'm sure i could do sq comps as well with those subs. i have an 880prs so eqing will be easy. just dunno how my mids and tweets will do til i get some kicks fabricated and get an amp for them (this weekend).

i thought trunk cars were loud with systems in them?
naw, they sound really good. but dont get very loud. just lotta rattles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I have a huge ported box for my subs did TL hit 135.8 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif But I had 2 bumper air vents and probably some other holes in the trunk I didnt seal off. I sealed off the air vents recently and I can already notice alot more difference. I am hoping to hit 140 at

the next comp I goto. I'm firing the subs thro the stock 10" subwoofer hole and thats it, no other openings from the trunk, because my gas tank is right behind my rear seats so there's no way to make any holes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif . But yeah, I think its gonna be pretty hard to hit 150 with 2 12"s in a trunk car without any modifications to the rear seats/back dash. or making a wall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif (BTW my whole car is sound deadend very well 3 layers on trunk lid, 2 on trunk floor, 2 layers all around inside floor and doors, 1 layer roof.)

you can get trunk cars loud but youll need alot of power at least twice the amount or a 3db increase over hatches/suvs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif to hit 150db you have to find your magic note build a really rigid enclosure, and have lots of power. Im currently at 151.?? on the tl in my neon but i have tons of power too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif soon im getting a hatch there most definetly easier to get loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
