troubleshooting problem with one of my amp

I'm trying to trouble shoot a short in my mtx ta 3404 amp. Its protecting itself because it detected a short. I was thinking if its my ground terminal that was not well connected since there's a little rust from the bare metal that is exposed but then my mono block amp is still on and pumping them woofers. Could it be my speaker wires are causing the short? Other than this reason, I cannot figure out what else could be causing the short.

im using a distribution box which has a ground so i connect the ground terminal to the distribution block and then it comes with four ground ports for me to connect my amps.. basically, if the ground terminal is having an issue, then it should affect both my amps in causing my short light to turn on and not just my speaker amps.

but I think i should double check my ground terminal's ground point is not rusting.

any other possibilities?

something may have vibrated loose internally.
I hope not. but its every once in a while. the first time it happened was 2 months ago and lasted for a day or two

then it ran perfectly fine and then now again it happened.

how old is it. could it be dusty inside? if all your wires are fine and only one amp is protecting, i would say it is that amp or a component inside.

approximately 8 months old? is it possible for loose speaker wires to cause this as well? i haven't check my speaker wires yet since im not within proxmity to it right now. will have to check tmmorning

yes they can. also if you have linked shorter wires together to form a longer wire, the resistance in the connections can cause it to protect.

there seems to be no problem now after re-wiring and re-tighten all my speaker line, power/ground lines. hitting the bass and speaker loud and still no short. Hopefully it'll pull through
