UPDATE

OK, so I was IM'ing Jeremy on friday and he said that he told me that he ran the truck, it broke, sent it into Traxxas, they sent it back to him with an new engine and controller, and it's been sitting in his garage ever since. WHAT TOTAL BS!!! Oh, and he just happened to all of a sudden log off in the middle of our conversation. I have the conversation saved at home.

So as of 12/20 (when this thread was created), the truck was BNIB, and he shipped it out to me on 1/7. So in the 2 weeks time (take into consideration the Christmas & New Years Holidays), he was able to send it to Traxxas (Plano, TX) from Michigan, have Traxxas fix it, and send it back to him. Oh, and get this ... it's supposedly been sitting in his garage after it got back from Traxxas, and that's how it got all dirty. And he didn't even look at the truck after it got back from Traxxas, that's why he didn't know it was sent with a full tank of gas.

So ... the POS won't start. I had a friend look at it for me,and he tried different gas and glow plugs, and it still wouldn't fire up. So I'm having a local RC shop look at it. The guy said it wasn't a bad deal on the truck if it was running.

I guess you live and learn, and I'm not going to waste my time and go after Jeremy. It's all about KARMA, and what goes around, comes around.

Well, sorry for ya man. Did you make sure everythign was fine like mentioned in previous posts? Like checking to make sure the pipe wasnt cracked and all that shit? The engine may be shot, they poop out every once in a while. If you do, try to run it open a lot more then closed up, while you will lose signifigant performance, your engine life will increase substantially.

The guy who said that truck is worth $450 used was on crack. I bought my Revo for $400 new from the local hobby store, and its Traxxas newer truck than the t-maxx. And Savages are closer to 375 than 400.

That trucks clearly been run, and not a little, or not lightly. Likely neither. Those body scratches come from more than the break-in period. Its been jumped, rolled, etc. Hell it looks like its missing a piece off the cooling head, the plastic ring that snaps in.

Also, that nitro fuel attracts water notoriously. The fact that this moron sent it to you with fuel still in it is not only dangerous and illegal, it may have ruined the truck. I wont leave fuel in my truck overnight, hell not more than a couple hours (although Im anal about it). It will collect water, and that will corrode your carb, valves, cylinder, etc. There's a good reason you drain them of fuel and purge the motor using oil -after each and every use-, because they need it. Those nitro trucks are touchy, and take strict maintenance, something the previous owner -blatantly- ignored. The minute I saw fuel in it, I would have demanded my money back. The kid who owned it before you was a lazy moron who treated the truck like garbage, then handed off what's left of it to you, as 'BNIB'. You got shafted, sorry. IMO if you're smart you'll demand your amp back, unless he's already trashed it too.

Well, here's the deal. I got the truck from the RC shop end of last week. With a little tuning and new glow plug and wire, they were able to get it started. So I'm out $25 for the repair and parts. I was able to run the truck this weekend till the batteries, and I'm for the most part happy ... used amp traded for used truck, it's about an even trade.

The moral of the story ... for all of you doing business on-line whether buying or selling, make sure you do all the research you can and have a good feeling about the deal. If you have any gut feeling that something may go wrong, it probably will. In my 4.5 years of selling stuff on eBay and the numerous forums I belong to, I've always been HONEST. I've told buyers exactly what they're getting up front and answer any questions as best as I can. You can all see from this thread the outcome of what happens by bending the truth or by not relinquishing the full details.

Laterz.
