Fail. you dont have the opportunity to do that, you might be able to find the ip of where he is using it but that could redirect miles away. I always have hamachi running as a service so my computer is accessible at all times.

he's got something like that on there, but he doesnt want to try and log on while the kid is using it, or else he'll know he's being watched...and I think its a Macbook....mac's tell you when the computer is being remotely controlled when you log on

You are correct, he won't have the same IP address when he connects elsewhere...

This is retarded. Your ip address has nothing to do with the machine. it could be located on fucking mars for all you know. What you're wanting to do isn't going to happen, because the MAC address is what you want since it is the distinguishable number every machine is given one thats different. However, you cannot "ping" and get a MAC address from any machine anymore. That is, aside from a few dell's that are old now.

Sorry bro, none of those utils will work...IP's are traced to the closest hop from the source, typically the ISP...the IP you see is the IP the ISP assigns when you connect, not the IP of your actual computer...only way to get that is to get a court order for the ISP to give up the actual IP of the connecting customer...and that ain't gonna happen without a damn good reason...is what it is bro...privacy and all that shit...we Americans kinda like it that way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

not true, he could have set up a static ip with the specific pc and when it connected to the Internet used the same one.
