Toyota Avalon Log...4 12" Type R's INSTALLED!!

See I agree with you. I broke them in at like 1/4 gain....now its up to 1/2 gain. The guy who helped me with the whole project is afraid to turn it up more, even though they really arent even close to full excursion. THE MAIN FEAR about turning them up to much, is if I blow one of the subs in the back.....EVERYTHING has to be disconnected from the amp, (because its mounted to the box as you can see) and the boxes have to come out....which if you have read the rest of this thread......is NOT a fun job at all!! I would make a video of them, but I dont have a digital video cam or anything...maybe I can get my cousin to help me out.

ITS FINALLY DONE!!!!!!! Here is the back dash, we just finished it up today (besides the last tweeter cup which you might, or might not be able to see right now.

As far as tuning, the square ports might work better, but thats just more work to round all the edges. It does hit DEEEEP. Tuned to I think 35 Hz. There is no port noise AT ALL! There is a new resonating sound under my wheel well though....like it resonates different frequencies pretty bad. I dunno if its my exhaust or just the bottom of my wheel well flexing...which is sound deadened really good.

looks great.... hmm didnt notice your in chi where you at? maybee you can see how the 15 does and the first to see the new chinchilla interior //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

nice car, nice install, maybe tear the c arpet out and paint later down the road? other than that i bet it slams.

I would really like to paint it or vinyl it in the future some time. I was just so anxious to get this system in my car...I already spent so much time to save up money to do it as it is....with a discount because I am friends with a shop owner so....Just wanted to get it done.

Also the carpet saved A TON!! of sanding time vs if I wanted to go with the vinyl, and even more so if I wanted to get it painted....but painting all this alone would cost more than the install and the subs together at least.

A good trick is to do cheap carpet and then vinyl, if done right it saves hours on hours of sanding.

What do you mean cheap carpet and then vinyl....like cover it in carpet, then cover it in vinyl...If this is what you mean, how do you wrap it tight and have it not look like there is padding underneath it?

Interesting idea though.

wrapping tight is the hard part //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not a heck of alot harder than vinyl right on 'glass though. If you get a good even cover of both carpet and vinyl, you won't know the difference unless you touched it... you use the cheap carpet because its thin, the felt type stuff.
