Total system build advice...

I am want to put together a nice sound system for my 95 Corvette. It has a Eclipse CD3000 head unit, that I wouldn't mind keeping, the rest of the stuff isn't working or just sounds like crap. The factory Bose was gutted and unknown components installed. The car runs 5.25's in the factory front location, but 6.5's will fit nicely, without issues. It can run just about anything in the rear upto an 8" sub. I want to run 1 10' for a little extra punch, or something similar, but I have to keep room for my top. I don't want to spend crazy money, about 1500, give or take a few 100.

Also, if my CD3000 is outdated and not worth using, I will upgrade.

Thanks for the help and advice!

Mouth.

The deck is pretty good still just depends on your needs. I'd do 1 or 2 8s in that rear area maybe a decent 5 channel as well to run the system ok really need to know what your goals are and the type of music you listen to. Then myself or other vendors can offer suggestions and even quotes if needed

Forgot to ask. Should I look into a 4 channel and a mono or just a 5 channel? If I go 5 channel, can I run the 5th sub channel at a lower ohm load and not affect the other 4 channels? The 5 channel amps are totally new to me, sorry for all the questions.

It's fine if you don't ask you won't know. Anyways either is fine. I know space is limited in your vette So it's really up to you on how much space your willing to give up

Mainly 80's rock, but 70's,90's, and just about everything really. I don't really listen to heavy bass or rap.

As far as goals, I want to be loud and clear at high speeds with the targa top off.

As for space, I have 6" at the lowest part of the top with it in it's holder, I don't mind using that space and the storage below it for a nice amp rack and 2 amps, if that is the better set up.

Thanks you for you response.

No problem your welcome. I listen to the same music 2. 8s in that rear opening. 800 - 1500 rms to power them. 6.5 components in the doors You need to deaden the doors have the proper wires Suggestions. Hertz Hsk 165 components. Arc audio mini 2 channel and matching 1000 rms amps. Also 2 tantric or dc lvl 2. 8s 0 gauge wires to a distro block then to 4 gauge wire a custom box for the subs some dynamat or stinger deadener

Some pics of the area where the top,sub and amps will need to go.

As far as power and wiring, I've already installed a Braille battery, had my alt built to 175 amp, and 0/1 gauge cable to the left storage compartment. I just need to pick components and install a block.

You can see the front speaker box to the left in front of the E-brake handle. The 95 doesn't have speakers in the doors. Also the front of the car and door have been matted, I have the SD matting to do the rear, but was waiting till I started the system install, so I only had to take it apart once.

Please excuse the dirty carpet.LOL I have a dirt driveway.

That's fine man I've seen worse of 30 years of installing so I can keep you in that $1500 range pretty easy. You still need a big 3 kit. Rcas and speaker wire as far as wires go tho

Oh, I understand. the bearing went in my alt, so figured might as well build it, I replaced the old carpet(in the pics) and serviced my windows, figured I would run my power cable and D-mat it, while I was in there. Battery died, so I chose a light weight big power battery. I'm have a big problem with " While I'm in here, I might as well". LOL

Yea good idea. Might wanna do a small battery in the rear to help with power to. Like a hc 800 or something along that line
