Total Noob...Need amp help!!

Those ones on crutchfield for $99 are last years model. I just bought one (and I like it), but if you spend an extra $30 you can get those ones off of ebay that are this years model. They produce 600 watts rms each whereas the old ones are only 500 watts rms. I think there are a couple of other differences too, but not sure what they are.

What you heard about HAVING to spend $500 for a quality amp is garbage. To reiterate what these guys said, if you buy something brand name, i.e. Alpine, JL, Rockford, then yes, you will be paying more. But you are mainly paying for the name. They really aren't much (if any) better than the other names that were suggested to you. If you want a really great amp, go with the sundown. But I think you would be really happy with the AQ.

And yeah there are better subs out there. I'm not saying type R's are horrible. They get loud, but loud isn't best. Are you open to other suggestions, or are you set on the type R's?

This one was suggested here ^^ it's the cheapest 1500w amp suggested here. Is this good quality as well?

And about the subs. I'm kinda set on them. I don't need very loud subs, because the 350z has an open hatch/trunk...and it's such a small interior. Even just one 10 inch sub would probably suffice. Plus I think my box is made to fit them----

Unfortunately money is tight for this system. I already dropped over a grand on the head unit, a new ipod touch, and installation. I still have to buy new rims/tires, so I'm trying to keep sub/amp costs as low as possible but without sacrificing quality (and no bootleg installations by one of my friends)

2 audioque sdc2.5 10's off the AQ1200d would be phenominal for under 500 and would get pretty loud.

That wouldn't leave op with much money left over for an amp though.

Keep in mind that you can get better subs with sound quality versus sound pressure. The type r is known for getting loud but not good SQ. Just about any 10 will fit in that enclosure. Just check the mounting depth and circumference of the mounting diameter. But I understand if you decide to just get the type r's.

That MB Quart is a great budget amp. It's not the best, but still an awesome amp.

1,0000 times better subs. and def if u go type r id get the new version like i posted before, these also great in sealed boxes where type r's are not
