Total comp set noob needs help

I have a '79 El Camino SS that I recently added an AQ 8" sub with a blaupunkt 300 watt amp. No space for anything bigger, or else I would have gotten bigger! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But, to the matter at hand, the only thing I know anything about are subs. First off, any suggestions for cheap semi-good quality comp sets. Stock speakers just aren't doin it for me but i don't have much money to spend, at most $130. Not much to go on, but there ya go. Also, could i just mount the speaker in the door without an enclosure, or would it sound like sh*t? Thanks for your responses!
