Top of the Line

I am new here so I might as well give a quick write up to why I'm here. I've recently rewired my stereo system in my car which turned out well. Just as a reference:

[Not sure why wont let me use link for photo]

Two 1600w monoblock amplifiers

One 1200w 5ch amplifier

The head unit is a KVT-911 (single-din)

Two JL w3 12" in fiberglass boxes

Whole trunk lined with Dynamat Xtreme

Was a _____ and a half to install due to the multiple components (nav, rear view, amps), it sounded brilliant when it worked! Unfortunately due to a lack of brain cells and a sense of maturity, I crashed my car while I was driving recklessly with some friends, and I wound up selling the monoblocks for money to fix the car. Just to get a feel for things again and familiarize myself, I might do a rewire to completely tuck the wires and carpet my trunk again.

I got rid of the fiberglass enclosures because they took up far too much space, took the amp stand out of the trunk, and threw in a prefab vented box for two 12" subs. Once I carpet the trunk again, I'll be making sure that the stereo system is flush and clean so I don't have to worry about it again for a while.

If any of you know what these amps are, you'll know that they are OLD! They may or may not be outdated, but since I got rid of the monoblocks, I want another setup. I'll be reading up on many stickies, but I've come here to get general information on a system.

I prefer "top-of-the-line" or a notch below. My budget is not an issue right now so I'll be doing my stereo right the first time around. Here is what I'm looking for:

Component set (3-way preferrably)

New dvd head unit that will be double-din as they don't really make a whole lot of single-din nowadays

A four channel for the speakers

A monoblock setup with a SINGLE 12" sub

I've looked far and few at many name brands... Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford, Hifonics, Focal, Rainbow, JL. Here's what I've looked at and thought about:

Component set - Alpine Type X, Rainbow Vanadium, Focal K2, JL ZR

Head unit - Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, other brands

Amps - Alpine MRX-M70 (owned one before), hifonics, MTX

Sub - Alpine Type X, JL W7, Rainbow Vanadium, Kicker (Not a fan much)

So help me with a setup that you think would be top quality! Let me know why you feel the way you do about the products. It's a Jetta so the speakers would be a 6.5 set.

This should be fun.

Head unit - Not sure for double din, but the Pioneer 80prs is very well regarded here for single din.

Amps - McIntosh or Audison

Sub - Probably Morel Ultimo

Components - HAT Legatia?

I haven't heard a whole lot of incredibly high end setups, but after months of googling, I assume these are all pretty top notch.

**Don't know why I said Stetsom, I meant Audison.

do 2 DD audio Z series 12" subwoofers, then strap 2 DD audio M4's per voice coil. 4 amps per woofer, electrical upgrade is recomended
This is what you offer in response to :

"I prefer "top-of-the-line" or a notch below. My budget is not an issue right now so I'll be doing my stereo right the first time around."

Lol!! For sound quality i would reccomend two JL w6 12v2's with a slash 1000/1 nice clean set up i had it myself sounded amazing. And then get the jl components you were speaking of and you have a matching system oh and almost forgot a slash 300/4 for the components

Man, MMATS for sure. Amp Wise. Subs is a toss up. So much good stuff out there. I would be satisfied with 2 or 3 iDMax. Components gotta be Dynaudio! Head Unit has to be a Pioneer 80PRS or a 99.
