Too much power?

I just picked up a Rockford punch 450.4, 1350watts, I just checked the spec sheet that came with it and its rated at 1820 watts, I am running 2 6x9's Kenwood 200 watt, and 2 kicker 12" subs 375 watts.

Thing is I am scared to install it fearing that the amp itself has too much power and will blow the speakers can i get a confirmation on this?

I had a rockford 400.2 in it but its a very very old amp and its dieing hence the new amp i just got.

set the volume to 3/4 on the head unit and turn up the gain until the speakers start to distort, then down just a tad. That is now the max volume for the speakers, and you wont blow anything.

There is no such thing as too much power because you can safely set gains. You can hook a 2k RMS amp up to a 30 watt peak speaker and tuned correctly, will not overpower.
