i want to run two 15 inch type-r subwoofers and i was wondering if a ma audio hk4000d would be to big for them??
lol, you can call bullshit all you want. its been proven the sub can handle that power. 2+krms amp on a 12" type r, gains set by dmm with a -6db test tone to 2k. never smelled, never cooked.bullshit I blew a 15 Inch Type R of 1500 watts rms in about 2 weeks, I like the type r's they got loud but I rather get something else that can handle the power good, 2.5 voice coil and 750 rms ftl, I cant complain because i was running double the rated rms though
i will back this up. had a bxi2006d @ 1ohm on a 12'' R daily for a while...no problems.lol, you can call bullshit all you want. its been proven the sub can handle that power. 2+krms amp on a 12" type r, gains set by dmm with a -6db test tone to 2k. never smelled, never cooked.
even better is the fact that the 12" has an even smaller than the 15, you blew. clean signals are a good thing...
exactly my point. if you blow a type R off a 2kw amp, especially the 15" you got a problem.i will back this up. had a bxi2006d @ 1ohm on a 12'' R daily for a while...no problems.
i burp my 12'' R right now with 2 bxi2607d @ .5 ohms (3800+ watts actual power) each...no problems.
daily for a 15'' R i wouldn't throw more than a 2500 watt amp on it. this is not accounting for reactive rise. and the box should be no larger than 3.5cubes. yes you can blow it off 2500 watts, but with gains set correct, it won't be blown.
and those are the facts. i've been through enough type R's to know my ways around them
