Too much for the SX's?

My SX couldnt take 1300 watts for a full song at full tilt.
da*n....there's so many mixed opinions for this sub....i've heard by ALOT of people say that it can handle well over 1000 watts though.....are u sure u weren't just smelling the glue burning off like the other guys are saying?

i think that was jour jbl amp...

my sx sounds good (not great) and gets loud.. very loud, and lates 1200+ daily and can easily take 1500+

either you all are doing something wrong, or i have a dandy of a sub, cuz i've never smelled burning n e thing... except when i ran a type r sealed off of 700 watts for one song... must have been a dud or something...

I meant it sounds like *** after 1300 watts

hmm... i'd say that is a bit of an exaduration but i'd have to agree, install dependent as well... in it's recommended enclosure (not 4 plus cubes) it enjoys 13-1500 and sounds decent doing so.. throwing it in an oversized enclosure and throwing 1300+ daily at it isn't exactly recommended by anyone...

Edit: any type of clipped signal is a no no for an sx.. like most re subs... if your gain wasen't set with a dm, the sx isn't going to perform correctly, just fyi

Impendence rises so a DM is rather useless

But ok, Ill give you that.. SX's are picky... I dont have the time, money, wood, nor the patience to find THE BOX that makes the SX sound good.

than you're right, it wasn't the sub for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but implying that it isn't a good sub for his purpose because you didn't want to take that time isn't right :/

1300 reactive watts for any period of time will smoke an SX... thats just how they are.

Impedence rise and such... your not getting nearly the power you think you are.

the SX's aren't what I'd call a picky sub, either.

And btw.. if you want a nice low tune, 3.5 cubes is too small //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
