Downfire or Upfire?

I need to build a box for my Titan. It will go under the rear passenger seats so as not to use up all my cab space.

I could build a downfire but it will be more difficult.

I think It will be MUCH easier to build an upfiring box so I can simply Fiberglass the Bottom. Upfiring it will fire into the seats though (Unless I fold them up) The seats do fold up easy (lever on side), but it is more likely I will keep them down to keep the woofers hidden most of the time. (out of site out of mind)

I have never worked with fiberglass before and this will be my frist box so I am very tempted to keep it simple and get the most airspace possible going with the upfiring box.

My friend has an Audiobauhn and he said he turned his downfiring box around so now it points up and he is getting better output.

Basicaly I could do a real nice upfiring box, or buy a pre-fab downfiring like this one. (Pro Box)

It's Pre-Fab but it looks like a great box, and almsot fits well too. But the thing is my friend likes his facing up for some reason....And I don't have the know how to build a Hybrid MDF Fiberglass Downfiring at an angle towards the rear kinda box.

I'm probably just goign to go with 1 10" DLS Iridium, but if my only option is to get that probox, I might have to get 2.

Need Ideas Guys! Thanks.

down fire sounds better IMOupfire sounds like *** imo
What do you think of that Probox? On Page 2 it shows how it would fit in my KC Cab Truck. I justed wanted to keep the room behind the drivers side for cabin storage space (I go camping alot and need a place to keep tools etc besides in the back of my truck)

i like the downfire, that way the people sitting in those seats dont get too GREAT of a massage
Very True, and I could probably toss stuff (toolboxes etc) on top of that Pro-box (fold seats up) because it is Rhyno Lined...

Anyone check out that link yet?

However It does not seem to allow much space between the Sub and Floor, It's not like an optimal 3-4 inches for a downfire...Otherwise I have to limit mounting depth to like 4 inches and that blows.

Email proboxx and ask if they make one.

If you can...make a cheap-o enclosure to spec for the sub and test it out in different locations

upfiring, downfiring, foward firing and see what sounds the best.

Then just make an enclosure that's custom to your truck

wood is cheap fiberglass isnt

Problem is I'm renting a room and don't have the tools to make a box, and I doubt my friend wants to build me 2... I love to buy some tools, but I don't think having a tablesaw in my Bedroom is going to work out too well.

At least I can throw forward firing out, because that is not an option :p (10's won't fit)
