So I'm trying to match a box for a 12" JBL that I recently purchased. I have a sealed 12 inch box laying around with an airspace of 0.90 cubic feet. The sub requires 1.00 cubic feet. Will the box be too small? Thanks!
if you stuff the box with 1lb of polyfill it will make the woofer think it is in a larger enclosure. you can get a couple lb bag of polyfill at a craft store for somewhere around 5 bucks.
You could use the polyfill, but I would recommend getting a bigger box down the road. One that will give you the recommended air space after taking the driver's displacement into account.
