To the people whove dealt with 18's. Need input

2 18"s have moar cone area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
And he can get away with 2 18"s in 10.5 cubes using aero's, it'll be tight but it can be done.

If you want to keep the 2200D and not upgrade or strap them, you can go with 2 18" Q's or BL's, or some 18 proto's, you have tons of options depending on budget.
Yea that was my other option.. Going with the Q's .. Its just coming down to having the optimal box size for the 18s . The MJs seemed to have the smallest recommended box size compared to most of the 18's Ive been looking at .Been trying to weigh out the benifits . 18's will have more cone area ,smaller box . 15's will have less cone are but will be in an optimal box .

truf but i still would like to say BISH I GOTS A 21 IN DA TRUNK!

Triple OG status

Hmm very good to know ! .. Thats what Ive been wanting to find out .
Just some more backround though.

This is in an Astro Van in dB Drag SS 1-2 NW. in the 161 dBs with 8) DDZ2 amps per sub.

Box was around 13 cubes.

The 15s also took the burps better as the 18s cones were ripping apart when we tried turning it up to gain the .3 dB back to match the 15s.

lol maniac you are ^ So would you say just get a set of 15's with the optimal box , take the setup with a bit less cone area and call it day ? I mean dont get me wrong I have no problem going with the 15's, just trying to utilize the space i have available as best as possible .

everything has an optimal volume. Bigger isnt always better.

Your car and box may work better with 15s or it may not.

Just from my experience it seems as though 15s in a proper box will work better.

I think 18s just have more of a wow factor.

I would work on your current box. Im sure you can squeeze more output out of that setup. 2 18s in 10 cubes ported is not optimal. As a matter a fact, Im currently about to start on a project, and I will be running 2 18s in 10 cubes or so, but thats sealed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yea I may have to bite the bullet and just go ahead with the build .

My current box is more then optimal for the sd2.5c's .. There is no making it better/louder while still staying musical with the tuning . There are some 18's out there where 10-11 cu/ft ported will be sufficient enough so im stuck between a few options .. Your 18's sealed should have some nice low end extension //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
