You realize the obama admin and the democrat controlled congress since 2006 have doubled and tripled down on the debt the war cost right? I mean honestly you have to realize that the wars have been a drop in the bucket compared to the money obama and congressional democrats have spent right?

Some 5billion people were either against the invasion (or ignorant of it), but only a possible few hundred million actually supported the action, mostly countries (like SK, for example) that were essentially stron-armed by the US

Yes.By deeding us soveriegn land in order to maintain one of the largest military bases in the world for essentially free (this base serves the entire pacific theatre, and not just SK), as well as incredible tariff and trade agreements allowing fairly easy access to US markets.

These two items together Are estimated to be worth a few billion. this figure is estimated to rise into the trillions as China, India,and Pakistan emerge as even stronger powers, and NK heads to some sort of crisis.

I gather no one else here studied poly sci in college.

There may be value to the trade and tariff agreements, but I am not familiar with any direct funds for our protection. In some middle eastern places, especially some of the FOBs, we pay to be there.

Worth much, much more than SK could ever pay cash for, especially considering the forecasts for the future in the region.

I see. And if it's correct (I have no reason to believe it isn't), makes for decent policy. That leads me to question how come the administration (and not just this one) doesn't do a very good job of explaining this arrangement to the American people. While many/most are dumb, they'll understand if explained. With that said, this arrangement does not make comments like "they do not pay us for protection" false, just misleading.

I didn't say the popular vote of the country. I said to name an instance where the popular vote of a state was not referenced in the electoral college.
An example would be that if 95% of Cali voted for Obama and the members of the electoral college voted for Mitt.

I am just not familiar with many instances. In my state, the electoral college must vote according to the popular vote. They cannot vote as they wish.

We were talking about rationalization leading to our (basically ) unilateral decision to invade in 2001. Currently we are a net exporter of refined oil, but we have shyte for sweet crude.

I missed where you backed anything up with facts. You are implying the war was for oil. You are stating this as a fact, but when questioned on any kind of numbers to support your claim you say it's irrelevant. Nothing could be more relevant. If we went to war for oil we should be able to find out how much oil it is getting us. Common sense.
