By deeding us soveriegn land in order to maintain one of the largest military bases in the world for essentially free (this base serves the entire pacific theatre, and not just SK), as well as incredible tariff and trade agreements allowing fairly easy access to US markets.

These two items together Are estimated to be worth a few billion. this figure is estimated to rise into the trillions as China, India,and Pakistan emerge as even stronger powers, and NK heads to some sort of crisis.

I gather no one else here studied poly sci in college.
