To all current enclosure designers: a proposal

that flush mount is so tight, how to you get the sub out?
flip it over?
Nope! I put a slight roundover on the back side, so when you unscrew it while it's in that position, the basket just slides down and pops out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
But yes, it was a ***** and a half getting it in there the first time without either marring the lacquer or breaking my finger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

and getting it straight.
lol

on the backside of what?...must mean the mounting hole?
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I forgot about that. The logo was a bit off center and it was so ****ing hard to rotate that **** thing around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
And yes. The backside of the baffle has a 1.25" wide ring around the mounting hole making it a "double" baffle with a vanity panel. The only purpose of the ring is to make mounting the sub a bit safer without stressing the baffle. That ring has a roundover on it which the basket will touch onces the screws are out. If it was still straight, the sub would just sit in the hole. Since it's rounded, its just enough to help it slide out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Alright ladies and gentlemen, the results are in! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Once you see your name, send me your paypal address by the email address I provided you or through PM. Without further ado:

1. Mobeious - 99.9025/100

2. imamp3pimp - 95.95/100

3. Pioneer Saturn - 95.625/100

4. marcotheclepto - 95.5123/100

5. spltuscon - 94.7475/100

6. Unnamed - 72.75/100

The last guy is unnamed to keep his name private just in case he wouldn't approve of having his...low score being posted. The scores are not rigged in any way and I ended up not even grading the subjective portion myself just to make it more fair. If you want to know your individual scores (I think I told everyone theirs already except for the subjective portion), then go ahead and PM me. As I said, I'll be advertising for the winner (mobes) in my sig unless he objects.

Congratulations to everyone, the scores were close and no one on here should be deterred from going to any of these designers since the errors are so small. For example, SPLtuscon's objective scores were 2.02cf @ 30.8hz which that alone contributes to a weighted error of only 2.75% out of 75, or 3.67% out of 100. If you are picky about hundredths of percents of accuracy, then you're in the wrong hobby. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No one got below I believe a 22/25 on the subjective portion which is where the final scores came down to. As a note, except for mobes, the scoring is not actually in objective order as well. It's because some of the designers decided that they're storing plastic explosives instead of subwoofers and as such, they scored higher subjectively even if their objective scores were slightly lower. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Congrats again. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It would have moved you into Pioneer Saturn's place as far as objectivity, but I can't tell you about the subjective portion since I didn't grade it myself. Ima, mobes and pioneer had some seriously beefy enclosures. Curiously, at least the top 5 had a double baffle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
