to all chevy blazer owners

I had one but sold it and am getting another this week, not the best on gas about 20 city and 22 highway but its a powerful little 6yl, it was very simple to hook up audio equip. and ran strong at that. I loved it and look forward to getting my new one which is a 95 also as the old one so I give ya a thumbs up!

Id definitely recommend against it.

I have a 1997 Bravada, its the same thing as a blazer, just with different trim options.

Ive had it two years this month, and Ive replaced:

battery

starter

alternator

all new ball joints, idler arm, pitman arm

another new ball joint

broken abs line bracket

oil cooler lines leak

u joints

passenger side wheel bearing

sagging doors

dimmer switch

rear washer line broke, flooded the rear of the car

washer tank pumps both leak

broken motor mount

burned factory wiring

hood washer

Thats all that comes to mind, Im sure theres more. If you get one, check it over for the common problems for that year.

i have an s-10. very similar engines. 190 hp. the 4 wheel drives have the 200 hp v-6. it runs well. it doesn't have the acceleration i thought it would, but on the freeway at over 55 is when you can feel the 190hp. very nice when passing people. chevy engines run too hot for my tastes. i don't like looking down and seeing the running temp pushing 210 all the time. i immediately got a lower temp thermostat. i also learned the hard way to be really careful with the cooling system in general. always run dex-cool or distilled water. had all kinds of problems with my sonoma. waterpump, radiator, thermostat, all replaced.

wow. talk about taking a loss. i've never had that bad of luck with either the 95 gmc sonoma or my current 2003 chevy s-10.

Sad thing is, most of those are common issues with the truck. Im just waiting on the ignition switch to go out, then I will have had all of the common problems.

Forgot to mention that the wipers only work sometimes- another common problem.

So, if you get one, have fun.

I have literally owned 13 S-10's. I currenty own a 2001 2door 2wd 4.3L. They are easy to work on, will last forever if you treat them right and keep up on routine maintenence, ect.
yep. if you drive 10,000 miles on the same oil, don't get a GM vehicle. i traded my sonoma at 150,000 miles. just pay real close attention to all your fluids and you'll be fine.

i only drive probably 3-4k miles a year and always change my oil regularly
that's the thing with GM. my grandfather and uncle have a farm in nebraska and they have chevys and fords with 300,000+. that's a work truck on dirt roads and thru pasture, not easy street driving. they get a bad rep. from people who have had bad luck or just don't maintenance their vehicles enough.
