Time to help me decide on a 12" beast!

I have the space for one 12" sub, which will be powered by 800-1200w of RMS, no more. I have to decide on an amp, too, but thats for another thread.

What would you get if you were in my shoes? I want it to sound good, and I want it loud.

I want my cake, and I want to eat it, too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

I HAVE CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING:

Alpine Type X SWX-12

Orion H2 12

Diamond TDX

Image Dynamics ID MAX 12

Adire Brahma Mk II

JBL W12GTI

Rockford Fosgate Power Stage 2 T212D4

MTX Thunder 9500 T9512-44

Kicker S12L7

I am, OF COURSE, open to ANY and ALL suggestions! To clarify here: I want a great balance of sound quality and quantity, with a slight nod to quality. Let's call it Sound Quality 60%, Sound Quantity 40%.

Let's here it, dooods. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif

Why don't you figure out exactly how much space you have and choose the woofers that would be happiest in the available space. Then pick the one that would be running close to its max at your available power (real world). That way you know what ever woofer you get it is working as hard as it can for you.

the tdx is a great choice. it has very tight bass. they sound amazine with instumental music. it is a great SQ sub. break in periods are mandatory with them (just a tip). the h2 is a great choice too, it has a little more lower end. i have run both in the same car with the same amp. also, the treo ssx is a good choice if you are going to be running upwards of 1000 watts. if you are running 700-900 watts i would say the treo ssi would be your best bet.

I loved my TDXs when I had em. Then got bored and switched to Alchemy RXs, it was more or less a business decision and a chnace to try their newer ones designed for sealed enclosures. Now waiting for my Arc Flatlines.

I was just reading that the TDX's don't have a flat line, so that they would have more distortion.

Are they really going to sound better and louder than an ID MAX 12?

One more thing: I did a search on the JBL W12GTi and got almost nothing. I know they retail at **** near a grand, but SoundDomain pricematched them for me at $284!!!!!

Two-hundred-eighty-four.

Money aside, what is the W12GTi on par with? Can it compete with the 12W7?
