tight sq punchy bass HOW?

could not find a direct answer via search so...

im new to bass and i would like really tight punchy bass. no rolling bass. want to set it up so that left and right bass like rock kick drums would sound good. and rap. I have a bandpass twin 10in box. but from what i can gather is that is no good for what i want correct? its going into a small/med trunk

Sounds like your going to want some 8 inch subs in a sealed box, two channel will work, or mono.

sealed box, a class a/b amp, im not to sure of what subs are good for sq but im sure someone will ring in for that.

becuase smaller subs = punchier bass

I'd say go with JBL W10GTI's, they are known for their SQ, and for an amp, McIntosh makes great SQ amps.

im a carpenter so i can make a box. ofcoarse after i find out what my needs are. if i run sealed i just need to know how much cubic in/ft i need in rear of sub correct?

scratch that then, you wont be able to afford the equip I recommended... you could get the sub for around 230-250 on fleabay, but you'd have to find an amp for like 50-70 bucks

I know rap does not have punchy bass. im more concerned of the tight sq bass. but i also play rap so i am looking for a happy medium. i cant stand rolling bass. and im not looking for the loudest car on the block just more of a balaned system.

You have to get little subs. The smaller the subs the tighter/punchy the bass. I'd look for some 1'' subs. /sarcasm
