well this is something new for me...my new daily driver is a reg cab truck. i have roughly 9 inches total depth to play with and 400 watts of power. thinking about some tens any ideas?
How much are you looking to spend? And what impedence do you need?
Two Koda 10's or Creative Sounds SX10's. A single Image Dynamics IDQ or IDMax10, maybe two ID10's. A single 10W7 would probably slam pretty good w/ 400w.
Also depends on if you want SQ, SPL or SQL
Check out Soundplinter (Rl-i series are TC Sounds TC2+ carbon copies).
'89 s- 10. couple hundred (remember i will have 400 watts@2 ohm), that 9" includes the box and room for the cone to move as well. i plan on doing a biuld to enclosure where the back of the box is the cab to gain that extra 3/4" of space. the amp i plan to use is an mtx 895 5 channel. i plan on installing my xdp4000x under the passenger side floor mat (building an enclosure for it under the carpet) then the single amp being mounted vertically along the back of the cab passenger side.
I have a reg cab chevy silverado 00 model. I took out my center seat to have room for a box and whatever future plans on building I have. It's a 1 cubic foot sealed btw, and I'm using an 12" re SE which the MD space is 6.75".
I have my Arc Audio V2 12's (IDQ V3 upscale cousin)in a 0.6cu/ft and 7.75" deep sealed box w/ a tad of polyfill- In case you want to go w/ 12's, these are very sharp- quick hitters -great SQ subs
Alot of truck owning SQ heads go w/ IDQ's- they work great, they sound great and they hit so hard and clean
Like I said the Arc sub is a more refined version of it- it has push down terminal posts, larger magnet, share same basket and cone/duscap use diff glues or whatnot- Have not had a chance to examine thoroughly other differences, but basically the same driver- But they sound the same, just slightly diff assembly- and I think its put together by ID
I payed $189 a piece for my Arcs, the IDQ's are cheaper and can be bought from Sound Domain -either way you go you're getting sweet subs and would be in heaven with 400rms
Another sweet affodable SQ sub is the Alumapro Alchemy Mx- work well in similar
2 8's or one 10 maybe a 12, but thats probably all ur gonna get in a smaller spac. you could make a box that gos from the bed to the cab and get 10(s) or 12(s)
