Three 10s setup in a hatch

I may be selling my 3515 in favor of a triple 10 setup in the hatch of my Cougar. I plan on facing the subs up and the port back, with tuning around 32hz optimal.

I have been thinking of doing three 2510s as I can get some D4s and wire them down ~1ohm which my sundown will handle, and I can get them relatively cheap.

If I go with anything else, I have a max of 4-500 USD to spend on the subs.

Catches are:

Budget (500 MAX)

Space (Couger hatch.. could fit quite a bit but wouldnt like to go over 6cu total)

Power (Sundown 1500 right now, roughly 500rms to each sub)

Im not sure if I plan on upgrading my alt and amp later, though if I can I will. I dont want to set anything in stone though right now.

Was looking at some of my other options, like the new FI X subs. Theyre rated for 250 but maybe theyd take 500 clean? Or if I bought used, get some SSDs.

Or IA 187's..

Or AQ SDCs.. (Wanted to try something more 'musical' as to others opinions)

DC lvl3s..

Was looking at a ffew other options including:

IA 187s

AQ SDCs

FI X

and DC lvl3s.

Im leaning towards either the SDCs or (used) LVL 3s for the price, since I could get the SDCs new in my budget.

If anyone has any other reccomendations, like two twelves with my power/space or whatever Id love to hear it. I am happy with the sound of my DD and am confident that am done right anything will sound good, but good numbers on low tuning is what Im going for.

And before someone mentions it, I am considering three 12s. I could stagger them slightly and fit them in the trunk space wise, but I may have to point them back instead of up. But I assume the bit of cone area gained would more than cover that and be considerably louder.

Edit - LVL3 12s suggested ported is 1.5cu? Ive heard they like small..but thats almost a foot less than normal.

Would three lvl3 twelves in around 5 cubes work pretty well?

I wouldn't bother, you're most likely not going to get any louder than a single 3515 anyways. It will ultimately be a trade off on space vs. power when it comes to comparing it to a 3 sub setup.

I could do two 12s, but wouldnt three tens have more cone area?

I could do two lvl4s, BLs, HDCs or 3512s perhaps. Any input on that over the triple ten setup? down the road I should have an alt upgrade and more power.

Think Ive decided on two 15s. Thats the most cone area ill get within the budget. Ill have to squeeze em into about 8 cubes though in my hatch.

Probably going to do two HDCs. Believe thatll be the loudest Ill get for the price and Im satisfied with their low-end.
