Thoughts on this setup?

Last time I put a stereo in my car I didn't put much thought or research into it at all, so I decided to do a bit more this time around.

Head unit (already installed):

-Pioneer DEH-P7800MP

Rear:

MB Quart DTC169 (Currently)

But I'm thinking of switching to Infinity Kappa 692.7i because the MB Quart seem to be hitting too many highs and not enough lows (They're a few years old... so doesn't suprise me)

Front:

Right now I'm using the stock Bose speakers that came w/ the car.

Boston Acoustics SX65 Are what I'm looking at.

Amp:

Kicker ZX350.4

Does that setup seem like it would work well? My other option would be to forget changing the fronts, get a sub, and use the amp to run the rears/sub. Any thoughts on what to do or my choices?

DO NOT SKIP ON THE FRONTS! If anything, forget about the rears. Get a sub, and some new fronts and you'll be happy.
thats what i was thinking.

anyway OP, you should have upgraded your front speakers before your rear because you do not really hear much from the rear speakers, what you hear is the front speakers so that should have been first priority besides your HU. then if you get a sub, you don't have to worry about rear speakers because the subs will pretty much drown out the rear speakers.

To OP : Yes, your speaker and amp selection is great, but as Blimblam and I both said, do not think of your fronts as 'disposable' you'll want to have great fronts if you're looking for SQ. Yes, they might sound good to you now, but to an ear that has heard many setups with 'non-stock' speakers, it's most likely missing a few key things when it comes to SQ.

Thanks for the advice.

I didn't choose to upgrade my rears first then go for my fronts. The MB Quart speakers were in my old car (didnt manage to salvage the MB Quart fronts I had in there), and the HU was a replacement for a stolen one.

Thanks for the input!
