Thoughts on my setup

Sundown amps are supposed to be quite nice but I haven't used them or heard alot about them... they were kinda new last time I was around, search the forum. As for subs I recommend either the TC-3000, LMS-4500 or a sound splinter RL-P. Also remember you need to get a sub that is dual 2ohm so you can wire it to 1 ohm (one will be find for any of those subs).

Also if you have a little too much power in the amp that is fine. You can just keep the gain knob low and you will be "underworking" the amp, making it run cooler and providing extra "headroom" so the amp isn't doing everything it can just to produce enough power ofr the sub. This is both good for the amp and the sub....

I'm not sure what the power rating is on those three subs but they can all handle between 1000 and 1500 watts.. but I'd shoot for around 1000 because once you start pushing above 1000w you are looking at new alternators and batteries etc (SUNdown 1500D with gains turned down)

Well I have the invoice they g ave me infront of me and it says amp install kit $170, and 85 dollars for the amp install kit for the speakers. Can you direct me to exactly what wires i need? Thanks.

RCA's - 2 sets

main power and ground wire - 0/1 guage 25ft

remote wire - 16 or 18 ga 20 ft

distro blocks - 1 for main power, 1 for ground

distro blocks to amp wires - 2 or 4 ga 10 ft

It seems like I'm forgetting something, knukonceptz has kits though, you can call them and they can set you up with what you need

By the way, keep in mind that your stereo is only as good as your source material. If you only listen to radio your 5k will be wasted. If you only listen to rap your main speakers are overkill.... If I where you factor in some cash to go to a used CD store and buy a bunch of old jazz/blues/classical CD's.... plus get some jimi hendrix and Chuck Berry etc... get'em used if you don't already like that sort of music... also pop albums usually have high budgets for recording so bands like U2 (ugg I hate them) will sound better than a recording of an "underground" metal group...

in any case I would know. I spend most of my time listening to talk radio....

anywho... I'm going to wander off now... hopefully your thread will get some more intelligent responses than the first couple pages now... there are alot of guys on this board that know more than I do. Try making threads for each type of equipment to get more direct responses and listen to suggestions... 6spdcoupe might be able to hook you up with more equipment than just the rainbow speakers as well...

also in the end get it installed... if you install it yourself it will become a hobby which is the worst thing you can do for your stereo. I went through 3 complete setups in 6 months with my 4Runner along with complete sound deadning. I spent hundreds of hours custom designing boxes and installation baffles. In the end I only had a fully functional stereo for about 1 month out of six //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif... now I'm too lazy to even assemble a simple 10" sub box... burnout is a *****...

ohh and a final note: don't let any salesman tell you these brands are "junk internet" brands... they just don't know what the hell they are talking about... like many salesman they likely don't have much experience with audio systems and are just trying to make a buck or two...
