Plus installation and all. Seem fair?
OK, will it sound good? yah probably ok... will it sound good compared to someone who took time to pick their components and looked for deals? NO...

HU - Whatever you want. I suppose the clarion is ok but why not get an alpine or eclipse for less money and just use single DIN, the second space could be saved for a processor or EQ down the road.

Speakers - Way to much for what you are getting. Ditch the rear speakers (search forum for "imaging", rear speakers are not required for STEREO signal, i.e. 2 channels, Left and right) A pair of rainbow germaniums is just shy of $500 IIRC and you only need one set.

Amps - NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! You can get better amps. I'd even buy used and get Arc or Zapco before I bought Infinity amps. The JL/500 is an ok amp but the retail price is WAY too high per watt, especially for a sub amp. You can get 1000 clean watts for a sub in the $250 range that will do just fine. I'm sure people can pipe up on their favorites

Subs - Sure the JL 12w6 is a great sub but it's the same story as the JL amps, retail prices are way over what they should be. You could probably pick up an IDMAX or two, or one of the newer forum boner subs and get all the same SQ and SPL for less money.

Now if only people would quit calling you a noob and saying what you have is not worth it and MAKE SOME SUGGESTIONS. I've been out of the game for 6 months and my memory is failing me on suggestions...

Also if you have 5k to blow go ahead and get it all installed, but if they are charging you 1k for install you likely aren't getting much of a break for buying their equipment. Buy it all online then take it to them for install. They might give you crap but rest assured it's b/c they are either A) complete morons or B) pissed they didn't get commision on you because you did the right thing and did some research before blowing that much cash

Thank you so much. SO, rainbow speakers would be a better sound quality route than the infinities? Which ones are the best ones I could get?
rainbows will knock out the infinities then curb stomp them..... twice.... now IIRC if you pm 6spdcoupe (assuming he is still around) he can hook you up with rainbow speakers. Get a set of rainbow germaniums, they are 4 somethin'

As for a sub amp here is a killer choice, it's used but mattmcss will not screw you and has been around for quite a long time. ARC amps are amazing in both SQ, build quality, and look IMHO. Does 900w @ 4 ohms or 1000w at 1 ohm (regulated ps). This saves you ~400 bucks over the JL amps and the ARC is likely a better amp.

This might be an odd question too, but is damplifier heavier than dynamat?
Not an odd question at all, but I'm not sure of the answer. If it's Damplifier vs Regular Dynamat the answer is probably lighter, plus damp will work something like 2-3 times better. Damp vs Dynamat extreme is a more fair comparison on weight and performance, but I'm not sure of weight at that point. Just go to the site, get the # and call anthony (might get someone else but I've got anthony each time I've called) and tell him what you want and where you heard about SS. Don't even look back at dynamat! it's junk in comparison. Oh and if you tell them you are from CA.com you should get ~10-20% discount.

Alright cool, are there any online vendors for the rainbow speakers?
I think they are but just PM 6spdcoupe . He is an authorized retailer for them so you get the full warranty plus he gives the members here a little price break. He'd also be helpful in making more decisions on components. I believe he has his own brick and mortar store. Oh and I checked and he's logged in today so he's still around

pssh don giving us a break? hehehe

Thanks I just pmed him!! Do they have a website, so I can browse the different speakers that they offer?
I'm not sure if he has a website... there is one that sells rainbow equipment.. but I can't remember the site. They where brand new when last quarter started and I quite visiting this site.... ohh well 6spdcoupe can fill you in

As for the sub look here:

http://www.tcsounds.com/

They make eclipses subs as well. I owned some of their entry level stuff and it was amazing for the money! Try out a single 12" or 15" LMS-4000 or TC-3000. BTW: I don't think you need to go with 2 12's.... there is a point where you are just plain damaging your hearing... but I suppose it's up to you and the type of music you listen too...
