Thoughts on MTX

i love my circa 03ish 1501d. i'm about to get another. how do you get 2200w? 1ohm?
I removed the suppression circuit. Ran a 16v battery system and had amps strapped to a 2 ohm load. So I had about 4400w per coil. 8800w per sub. 2) 15" MTX RFLs. 17,600w RMS total and 156.3 dB on TermLab at the dash

word.

how do you strap these? and how much could i do strapped at 1 ohm?

strapped at 1 ohm and the suppression circuit bypassed you can get just over 2300w each amp with 16v. 2000w on a standard electrical system.

Strapping is easy. Positive output of one amp to the pos. terminal of a voice coil. Then pos out of the second amp onto the neg terminal of the coil. And turn phase switch to 180 on the second amp. make sure gains are evenly set and away you go, now you will have over 4K per coil.

MTX amplifiers and subs are quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another MTX amp. The TA 7801 and 3404 were excellent amps. They sounded better than the Fosgate amps that I have now. The TA 7801 was rated at 1200 watts, the birthsheet had it rated at 1600 watts, it was just too **** big.

I own mtx subs and they are decent but thats about it. You have to look at the Jackhammer, that thing is the biggest wasdte of time/money that i have ever seen. As far as amps ive never had the opportunity to run one but i would say it has to be better than the quantum.

so, with one at say, 13.5v i could get ~2k @ 1 ohm?

i say 9500 series > all other MTX subs.

Mtx's new stuff is just as good as there old stuff IMO. I have 2 TA81001 and 1 TA3404 and never had a problem. Amps are their best product. I'll probably never run Hifonics again.
