Thinking about getting one of these for now. I have a Kenwood KAC-9106d amp i was just wondering if this sub hits pretty hard or if there's something else in the 120$ range that can hit harder.
This sub is designed for SQ...it has an underhung motor design which usually yields much lower distortion plus more motor control over the entire stroke compared to traditional overhung motor/coil designs. This clean design plus 15mm of xmax and only needing 2cubes sealed...not to mention it only take 500-600rms to really get down.I doubt you'll find anything really comparable around $120. If you belong to DIYMA forum there is a thread on there by the Alpine engineer who designed these.
The Type S really doesn't get the credit it deserves.
