Thors 2010 DC/Stetsom Build Log

Nice stuff, but to save weight and space you should ditch those kinetics and go with the new batcap 4000's they are beasts and the power is rediculousim running 4-31's on my 14k right now but im adding another 14k and swapping out my 31's and im gonna run 6-4000's instead of having to run 10 31's!!!!!!! my .02 cents. but looks good.

By the way do you get any noises or feedback into your system from the stetsom?

No but at start up the fans sound like twin turbine motors! lol

I'll look into the battcaps but as long as I keep coming acroos 2400's for 150 or so I gotta go with what I can afford. lol

I'm down to meet ya along the way!

Looks like I'm gonna get to power test a Taramps 20k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey rob. looking good like always. Hell, to save money i'd stay with what ur running(batteries) But next time you find some at that price, let me know. I'm thinking of putting a 2400 under the hood of my truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. But seriously, I could use one in my car or truck.

Billls

So on a brisk Sat evening I get together with my Psycho friends to play around with the Taramps 20k.

We drive out to the back of some factory parking lot and take advantage of the street light and get to work.

One of the things we were warned about was not letting the amp see 15v so that means my car cant be running. darn lol

We burped it several times but unfortunately the voltage drops kept sending it into protect. What we were able to see was 8600-8800 voltage starting at 13.4 droping to 10.8. This was with the amp starting with a nominal load of .5 and rising to 1.6-1.7.

So with car off the Taramps was putting out more than my Stetsom with the car running. In the next few weeks were gonna get together again and do some testing at 2ohm and see if we can find better efficiency that way. I should also have my new alt with external regulater as well to give it a supplied 14.4.

We burped it 8-10 times and Frank Jr. holds up like a Champion. No signs of stress on the weakened surround. Goop for the win!
