Alright so i finally got some money to put some cheap bass in my beater. I work at best buy so i am trying to use my discount to its fullest hear so this is what i am thinking setup wise:

-Subs and box: 2 12" Rockford P2's in box

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10146_Rockford+Fosgate+P2L-212.html

w/ discount get that for $170

-Amp: Rockford P500-2

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=GO0VPPOSCAO4JKC4D3KFAGI?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=P500-2&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

I dont know what i get for the discount but probably $160, haven't checked yet.

But is this setup worth the $400 with install kit? I am a little confused about using a 2 channel amp with subs, says 125w rms at 4 ohms but if bridged rockford says it puts out 500w rms? does not make sense to me.

Thanks for any help guys.

It's all right.

Buy two 12" R's

And the Fosgate 1000

You get the R's for

And the Fosgate 1000 wont even run you but around 250-300 IIRC. I might be slightly off on that one

Edit - Buy the equiptment there , have someone build you a box/build it yourself. Trust me on that, the prefabs BB has sucks nuts.

rockford is good but imo it is way overprice
yeah i am well aware of that but i figure with my discount its kind of worth it. Plus it requires minimal effort, already loaded and box is already made. Although i am a little weary that the box is only 5/8" mdf, i guess i am used to using 3/4" and 1" mdf.

haha yeah those prefab boxes are way over priced, its hilarious when we get these kids coming in dropping a grand for a shitty setup. Plus our install costs are through the roof. But i have already had 2 12" type arghs they require too much power for my tiny alternator. 500 watts is as much as i can go.
