I'm gonna do my floor with the eD stuff.I could care less about it peeling under carpet. I just have shitty road noise that I'm trying to get rid of.

the v1 is 1.00 a square foot and the v1se is 1.60 a square foot. pretty **** cheap.

butyl, however it does not have an aluminum backing, it uses a mylar one which greatly reduces its effectiveness, like has been said before, less or a better deadener will result in similar results, except less work of course

edead is actually good, have my whole hatch and doors deaden with it, awesome shit. and that test they did like a year ago, is old shit. their new stuff is awesome.

You using the dollar a foot stuff or the v1se? I'm gonna use mine mainly on flat surfaces like the floor and my rear speaker area. I got some dynamat xtreme for the doors, and I plan on doing liquid for the outer part of my door and the xtreme for the inside.

I guess it's a mixed bag. it may work for some, but it may not for others. I have really no experience it deadening at all.

i actually got a 60ft roll for 80 shipped i think, i have the V1SE2, its easy to use, just cut it, peel it, and stick it. and Phlipbak said he had it for 2 years and hasnt moved, and thats the old stuff. imagine the new stuff now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah that mylar layer eDead uses, instead of aluminum foil, rocks! And who cares if we've seen consistent examples of the layers separating from themselves (on the NEW stuff), its cheap as shit.

I did my doors and trunk with edead and the doors did peal pretty quickly. I had enough left over to redo it though. This time I used a heat gun and it hasnt pealed yet and has been there for a few months. Really does its job too. If you apply the stuff right it works great, and for 1.00 per square foot it really cant be beat.

If it requires a heat gun to make it stick, 1) its most likely asphalt based, uhm ewwww, and 2) it is most likely breaking down the material as you heat it, rendering it less effective than if it hadn't needed the additional heat to set it in place.

The good shit, the real butyl based stuff with proper adhesive, requires NO heat to make it stick, and it actually increases its bonding strength the longer its attached.
