thinking of getting a hybrid...

never really thought i'd be looking into one, but i am seriously considering it. I currently have a Mazda 626, Chevy Uplander and a Nissan Titan. The 626 and the Titan are "my" cars, and the wife pushes around he Uplander. I almost traded the Titan in last year and got a Tundra, but decided to hold off a little while and now I am thinking that with these gas prices and tax breaks, you would be dumb not to buy a car that gets 35mpg+....

the main reasons i never contemplated the hybrid was power and size, I like bigger motors v6+ for obvious reasons and I am a bigger guy so it's nice to ride in something comfortably without being cramped plus i like the ability to carry stuff around if needed, like maybe 2 15" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...I may or may not go hybrid, but I am really really mulling it over...does anyone have any suggestions on what to look at? right now I am really liking this Civic hybrid...

go sit in a honda fit....outstanding mechanically and they are surprisingly spacious from what they look on the outside...

My sister has one, and we drove from charleston sc to cincinatti OH on one tank of gas ~10 gal

edit: if you are going to drive one, get the sport...

x2 those cars are awesome...

Hybrids are still a retarded purchase from a cost perspective compared to an efficient diesel or gasoline engine. Even with the tax breaks and fuel savings, it will still take several years to make up the purchase difference, not including the cost of maintenance and repairs on the more sophisticated drivetrain.

including the cost of a new drive battery:crap:

Sounds like one of the dumbest ideas ever. Save yourself some money, do the math to figure out how many miles you'll have to drive in order to pay for the hybrid, then find the cost of the replacement batteries and figure out that no, it isn't worth it.

Quoted for truth. I was just about to say the same thing.
