thinking about changin vehicles, need input!!!

This will only really save you a meaningful amount of money in the longrun if you traded down and didn't have to pay any money into the deal overall. Neither of your options really seem to give you real savings. As you yourself said, at best, your gas savings by downsaving to the Z would make about 5 loanpayments. So let's not delude ourselves and set the whole concept of saving cash aside for a minute: You simply want something new.

If you just like trading every couple years, get the Z. If you're hoping to keep whatever you get next for awhile, well... If you're been used to the utility and versatility of a pickup, you're more likely to get tired of the Z after a couple years than you would of the grand Cherokee. As you said, the Grand Cherokee provides a better overall platform for a system while having usable space leftover. So that's what I'd go with if I were in your situation.

Since I am also looking to buy a car here are some I was looking at similar to the 350z as far as type of car.

Mitsubishi Eclipse 30mpg

Chrysler Crossfire 25mpg

Mazda Rx8 25mpg

Nissan 350z 25mpg

I ended up on deciding on want the eclipse based on this

better gas mileage, more room.

im 6'2, so that is also a down fall. i went to a couple dealers today and checked out a couple. i have been real skeptical of getting a trunked car as it is tough to get loud in, i would end up running a blow through but its still tough.

I would go with a grand prix if I were you, my mom had one and they are nice. Shes got a g6 now and her lease ends end july, Im trying to get my funds straight so I can take over the payments and have a nice depenedable car that I know wasnt dogged.

It hurts to sit here with no sounds and have to look at a blown 9518g and a brand new 0 guage hyperflex amp kit and know Im only about 800 away from bangin and can but cant do it right now=(

ps the g6 is like grand prix little brother hyped up on speed, Identical motor (200 hp baseline, 219hp for the gt and 250 for the gxp if I recall correct) and so to seem identical brakes with less weight (space too) so its kinda twicthy and REALLY wants to go or stop at low speeds. so if your going for more sporty riding style you might want to consider that, and it still has 14 cubes of trunk space and the hinges dont get in the way because they're air shocks that dont go down into the cargo space when you close the trunk, 60/40 seats included on the gt so theres your solution to the blow through
