put ring terms on the 8awg, and fasten them together two per bolt and slide bolt in each push down terminal. We do that all the time. works well.

Any bolt from Home Depot? I wonder if they have small copper bolts...
this...a 1/2" length of wire trimmed down to the proper size will easily carry the small amount of current your passing...Just trim each 8 gauge wire down and twist them together to make a new single 8 gauge wire to go to the terminal.
