the whining...the popping...Help!!

Ok, so i looked over the sticky, the only thing is for some reason the whine just started for no reason.

The RCA's and power wire run next to each other, however i've had it like this for my previous system and my system now, and never before have i gotten a whine.

My grounds haven't changed at all. They're at the same point, sanded down on the chassis. Both my amps are grounded, albiet with different gauge (8gauge for sub and 10guage for the comp amp).

When the engine is OFF, but the battery is on, no noise at all is present. Low volumes their is no whine, but as i crank it up, the whine becomes unbearable. It is easily as loud, if not louder then the music.

I have Lightning Audio RCA's running from my 8 month old Kenwood Excelon X590. I have Knukonceptz 4 Gauge running to a distro block where it is split off to 1 8gauge and 1 10 gauge (lightning audio wires).

My Alternator is stock, i have a 99 chevy cavalier, but it only has 30,000 miles on it. Hardly abused.

Also, my sub pops (most likely a relay pop?) after i turn my system off, and the sub amp stays on for about 10 seconds after my system is shut down (the light stays on).

I have a Profile Ca600 for the sub, and a PA PS2-600 for the rainbow slc's. I'm using arc kar crossovers because my rainbow ones are being fixed. I also added rear pioneer rev 6x9's....would that make any difference? Powered solely off the HU.

I'm thinking about picking up a ground loop isolator, i've heard their not ideal, however i'm not very electrically savvy (i know some stuff) but not enough to fully comprehend how to fix this problem. Could anyone tell me why isolator's aren't ideal?

I'll try moving my RCA's, however they've been their forever and I haven't had noise until now. Same ground as before too, They are snug and are sanded...

Should i try and turn off my HU's internal amp so my rear speakers turn off and see if that stops it? I'm really stumped because all the fixes in the sticky don't apply (i don't have pioneer decks), the Power (same power cable) and RCA (same RCA cable) have been next to each other and i never had noise. My alarm wires are next to them too...but same thing, no noise before.

Basically, somehow I am magically started getting noise. I have no accessories running, no neon lights or AC or power windows or anything. The only wires I changed were my speaker wires, but their in the same gauge, same place as before (I just put new ones in with no crimps). Basically the same wires, ground spots, and speakers, but before their was no noise, now their is.

The only thing i changed since the noise came is:

1) Different Crossovers.

2) Rear Speakers

3) Speaker Wires (same place, same awg).

I'm really stumped. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thanks.

It sounds like the noise is coming from the HU or rca's...just try something like ground the HU and the RCA's at the HU (the outside of em) and see if that helps.

I'll ground the HU and the RCA's first. I got a GL Isolator just in case...I don't wanna have to run out again. My grounds for my amps have stayed the same for all the amps that have ever been in my car (5 of them, not all at once) and none of them ever had this problem. The Comp amp is absolutely brand new virgin amp, today was the first power up. Never had a problem with PA either.

If those three things don't work...I'll try and put the HU ground where the amps are. it'll be like 15 ft of ground wire though. Is that OK? I haven't had a stereo in my car for 1/4 of a frekin year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif I want MIDBASS AND TWEEEETAAS ****IT! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yeah, go to the batt with the ground. Try a new set of rca from the deck to amp. I went through all of that recently. It was a bad pioneer 880. Ive read that a bad amp can do it as well. Do a search for alternator whine and start reading. Good luck.
