I’m buying parts for a new system for my ’02 Camaro SS

This is what I’m building; I would value any comments, or suggestions!

Alternator: 250 Amp dual rectifier by http://www.alternatorparts.com

Battery: RF BATTEX1 Deep cycle 950 CCA

Cap: Power CPCD10-03 1.0 Farred

HU: Alpine CDA-9815 (not using built in amp)

W/ Alpine TUA-T020XM

Front: Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components

Rear: Infinity Kappa Perfect 63.5I

Amp (front/rear): RF punch 301X [40 x 4]

Subs: 2 - RF RFR3112 Power HX2

Amps (subs) 2 – RF Power 851S [850 x 1]

Sub Box: Custom built to fit car, 1.2 cu/ft (not including displacement) sealed box.

Power wires are 1/0 going to RF Maxi style dist. Block, also, 1/0 ground going to dist. Block.

Security: Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5

What do you think??

Looking at around $3500 (including shipping, and all

wires/box/amp rack)

I will be installing this myself.

Box is too small...and it's sealed...

Port the RF's...they'll love you for it...

Sounds like a nice set up. I have to agree with Snova, that box is way too small for those subs...even for one of those subs. You'll want something around 2cu' per sub after all displacement. And definitly port it. (I ran my 3 RF's at 2cu'/ea ported to 28Hz. sounded awsome.) If your stuck on this box size, maybe you should choose a different sub...and only get one maybe..??

I have heard that a deep cycle battery is not the best choice for a main battery in a car audio setup. Maybe somebody could pick up where my knowledge leaves off.....

http://www.thezeb.com CDT HD-cf62 components...tons better than the perfects. Also, for rear fill...use round speakers...distort less easily. Look at the cdt-cl6x. Look at a more powerful amp for the speakers. Maybe a us acoustics usx2100, and usx2050...display them overtop of eachother on nice amp rack.

For starting battery go with an optima red top, then use a yellow top for auxillary batt. in rear. Find them new on ebay for cheap.

Subs, like the above said, they REALLY need a lot more space! Or maybe consider other choices. Maybe, 2 re se 12s...(http://www.respl.com) call for direct pricing.

Sub amps, maybe one amp that puts out needed rms. For 2 re se's...jbl1200.1, avionixx1200.2, tsunami db1100, hifonics 1500, plenty more.

http://www.weldingsupply.com SAVE YOURSELF TONS on 1/0 wiring...order 1/0 welding cable for $.99 a foot. works exactly same. Also, find plenty of fuse holders and such on ebay...try knukonceptz.com for batt. terminals.
