The ultimate PWK box

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I've never been impressed with any of the enclosures I've seen him design/build.
A lot of the times he uses strange terminology to make things sound more complex/creative than they really are.

There was a big thread about this before.
Every time I see "PWK", I think of Paul W. Klipsch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Now he made some enclosure designs I like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And, like I stated once already, I have nothing against pete's construction skills. He makes solid enclosures.
However, these wacky designs I've seen him come up with offer ZERO benefits over a properly designed ported or sealed enclosure, depending on the application. Pete makes it sound like they do, but I have yet to see any phyical evidence to prove his claims.

I'm sure DD would love to get phone calls from customers whose PWK box is the reason why they ripped apart spiders and destroyed voice coils because of unloading issues that could have been avoided had they used a DD spec enclosure.
they did from me.

i had him design me a box for flat response with my xxx 18, and it actually sounded pretty decent, but it was really big. i never worked out the exact specs but it was about 8 cubes after sub displacement. that 18 tore one tinsel lead on each side and i had to repair them before selling the sub.

i switched out to a dd 9518g, and had him design me another box, this one just to get piss loud to the ear. again, it was huge, more like 9-10 cubes after sub. it got pretty loud... but i burned up the tinsels inside the spiders, reconed it, and did it again... first time it lasted about 3 months, second time about 6. i emailed DD about it, and they said if i was doing that and not burning up coils that it was just moving too much from too large a box.

i still need to build a box for my hdc3 18s, but i'm going right in the middle of what dj recommends, at 5.5 cubes per sub and 38 hz.

can anyone recommend me another person to do the design for me?

What kind of vehicle?

I could whip up something for you pretty easily.
