Saying that Jordan had a lack of skill on his team is well, ludacris. Pippen was the best defender in the league during the Bulls era, and one of the best all around players in the league. Rodman was easily the best rebounder in the game as well.
Not having a big man was not a big deal during their run. With the exception of Ewing, Dikembe, Hakeem, and maybe a few others, there wasn't much big talent. Shaq was just breaking in and wasn't as dominant as he has been in the last few years.
I'm still sketchy on Lebron, have you watched some of his games? About 75% of his shots are dunks, and he still has under 40% field goals. He desperately needs to work on his shot, he has bad form. He does, however, have superb court vision, and with his size, I think that is why he will be so coveted. There are plenty of college players that will probably be coming out this year that would definitely be a better addition to many teams then Lebron. I think its gonna take Lebron at least 3-4 years to develop into a good starter, he hasn't yet been challenged in High School. Let him try and play against the T-Wolves when he will be matched up against KG, see how he does.
As far as the 'next Jordan', well, I don't think anyone can actually take on that role. IMO, Kevin Garnett is the best player in the league right now. Unlike Kobe, KG is pretty much doing it all on his own. I don't care how Shaq is playing right now, his presence is still there, he still draws much attention down low. The only thing that KG may lack right now is a low post game. When it comes down to crunch time, KG sometimes can't get it done down low on offense. He has improved his outside touch in the last year or so, I've seen him hitting more and more 20 ft jumpers and 3's.
In another year or so, I say a healthy Jermaine O'Neal will be the most coveted center...he has superb blocking and rebounding skills, his ft % has gotten a whole lot better, close to 80% I believe, his touch is getting much better as well, his midrange game has drastically improved. He has very quick feet and moves in the post, and his fadeaway is getting good as well.
