the thicker the MDF, the better?

is 1 inch mdf better than having 3/4 inch mdf??
what will it change?
It's a good question. I think most people will say "yes". They probably will not know why though. MDF is advantageous because of its density. It's dense and heavy. This means that it does not easily resonate. It also has the advantage of being inexpensive.

1" is going to have more mass than 3/4". Does that automatically make it better? Not in every application. If the box isn't very large and is well-braced, there won't be any difference in the two different thicknesses. Neither will move. If you have panels that are very long, obviously you have to brace them, but they will most likely have less flex/panel vibration if you use a thicker material.

With that being said, 3/4" sheets are already big and heavy. This makes it very difficult to manipulate until it is cut a few times. 1" is even worse. Everything in car audio has its trade offs.

Ditto.......

So if overall weight and size are not going to be a factor for your application, it is better. Less resonance overall. Better SQ.
