I know this is old as CA.com itself, but I've searched this site up and down for a good answer and can't find one.

For a square port, not an aero, what is the best port area (square inches of port per cubic foot of airspace) for a 12" Alpine Type R? Also, the box size. I'm thinking 2.25-ish cubes.

I would shoot in the neighborhood of 12sqin per cube so about 27 for you or so.

Not that I don't appreciate your reply, but I'm looking for someone that's tested some boxes for them. Someone that has seen what works and what doesn't with these particular subs. Thanks, though.

ok i didnt want to read through every page but what would be the OPTIMAL ported enclosure for 2 12" type r's if space is no issue? oh and for DAILY groundpounding being fed by a 1500d?

im going with 3.75 cubes to 32hz for mine for space reasons. but for you with no space issue any where from 4-5 cubes tuned to 32hz should do it. i asked this question before and most people said around 4-5 cubes.
