The Official Type R Thread

The differences in ohms just leave you with different final impedances that could be connected to your amp. Use a woofer wiring wizard, such as RF's, to find out what final impedance would be. Then apply it to a proper amp.

That amp will do fine. Just make sure that when you buy the subs buy the 4 Ohm ones, because they can be wired in parallel to get the final impedance of 1 ohm .

As for the box, you can probably do it your self for way less or have somebody on here build it for you for less and with better quality.

i was thinking get the 2 ohm so i can wire them to 2 ohms so i can get 1100 watts to them i don't want them to blow i think 1600 is to much to them.

1600 for a pair of Rs is not too much.... just make sure you don't introduce clipping and you'll be fine. TypeRs will take 800rms fine...

the bxi1606 is a good amp for those subs. Matter of fact, its probably the most common setup : a pair of Rs on a hifonics BXI

So who here would you recommend to make a ported box?

Hey guys im just put in my subs and amp and i have been having a little bit of trouble. I have a alpine Mrp-850 amp and 2 12 inch type r subs 2ohm.

When i start to really slap the subs they just cut out and i have to take off my deck cover and put it back in so they work again. I was wondering if you guys know what i could do to prevent this. I turned down the gain a a little and it seems to be working a little better but it still happens every here and there.

thanks alot

Im goin to buy 2 12" type r's here soon and was wondering what a good amp is for them????? I also need to know how big of a box to build....heres my trunk dimensions

l= 37 1/2"

w= 35 1/2"

h= 18"

please relpy in LxWxH....not cube please i dont understand the cube deal

i am looking at gettin two amps to power 2 subs...(kenwoods 1100 watt 550 rms) or would somthing else be better idea?

i need to get some help cuz nobodies helped so far
