the 15 will be louder than the 12 more than likely. The 15 is rated at 750 RMS, the 12 is 500rmswill a 15'' type-r be louder than a 12''?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
you never know because its the same watt rating.
but assuming you put 500rms to each, i dont see how there could be a difference.the 15 will be louder than the 12 more than likely. The 15 is rated at 750 RMS, the 12 is 500rms
i know, but how much of an audible difference will you really hear. The 15 is bigger and will move more air.
I'd bet you would hear more of a difference going from the 12 to the 15 (assuming the appropriate box) than you would by simply doubling the power to the 12.i know, but how much of an audible difference will you really hear.
thats true, but i've always wanted to know the TRUE difference from between a 10 and 12, and 12 and 15, assuming the box specs are 'perfect' and the power is identical.I'd bet you would hear more of a difference going from the 12 to the 15 (assuming the appropriate box) than you would by simply doubling the power to the 12.
From what i have seen going from the same woofer to the next larger size usually results in a small db gain. i have saw going from a infinity 10 to a 12 perfect, both in rec sealed boxes resulting in a 2db gain.(approx) iirc it was 1.8db.thats true, but i've always wanted to know the TRUE difference from between a 10 and 12, and 12 and 15, assuming the box specs are 'perfect' and the power is identical.
