just bought a type-r setup from a guy on this forum (fb4076) and wondering if i should change anything...

box is ported 5.25 cubic...not sure what it is tuned to.

the two type-r's are powered by a MA Audio HK1998, at 1200watt @ 1 ohm, the amp is 1 ohm stable.

im putting them in the trunk of an Impala.

I have a Alpine 1222 Type R and an Alpine M605 amp with a 1.25 Q-logic box in a G35

The rms on the amp is 600 watts and it blew my Type R a few days ago. Im thinking about getting the same sub or the Type X.

Do you think 1.25 ft ported box is too small for the R becuase the box can be sealed so I think that would be one of the reasons it blew.

no, but it would sound very nice in a 2.5 cub after displacement, tuned low. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i think it would sound completly different. i had one with one piece aero ports.

sounds like you had your gain too high on your amp

cut the surrond off then cut the spiders out LETS SEE THAT COIL @@@

Anyone else have a M605 and Alpine Type R what are your settings around with your amp. I wish they made a remote for this amp. Im really thinking about getting an alpine h/u and install it in my top glovebox (g35 has two) just to use as a bass control.

really??? 600 watts and it blew??? im gonna be putting 1000rms to mine in a 2.5cft ported enclsure tuned around 30hz.
